Disney’s VIP tour guide program was actually created by Walt Disney himself as a way to take extra special care of extra special guests. What started as the Disney Ambassador program has grown into the VIP Tour Guide program. These super knowledgeable guides are handpicked and go through extensive training. You’ll be able to spot them in the parks by their plaid vests and gold “D” pins on their uniforms.
Walt Disney World offers both private and semi-private VIP tours.
Private VIP Tours at WDW
This is the kind of exclusive tour you typically think of when someone says “VIP tour.” Your group can have up to 10 guests, and you will be assigned your own VIP tour guide to spend the day with you. Private tours last a minimum of 7 hours, but you are welcome to add on to that if you’d like a more extended day.
The VIP tour office will contact you in advance to get some information on how you would like to customize your tour. They are happy to work with you to fit in the attractions your family is most looking forward to… rides, shows, parades, fireworks… you name it, they’ll take care of it for you.
They will even pick you up right from your hotel. You get door-to-door service with private transportation to get around Disney property with no waiting. If you are “hopping” from one park to another your guide will whisk you “backstage” where your private vehicle – stocked with cold beverages and snacks – will be waiting to shuttle you onto your next park where you’ll enter from backstage to save time.
Spending the day with your private tour guide is an amazing experience your family is sure to love. Pricing varies seasonally, but as of this writing, a full day typically ranges from $2975 – $4375 plus gratuity (anything over 7 hours will be extra).
Semi-Private Tours
If a private VIP tour falls a little outside of your budget for this trip, Disney does offer a few different semi-private tours as well. Private tours are limited to just your travel party and are completely customized to what you want to see and do. Semi-private tours will be small groups that include other people, and they will follow a set itinerary. You still get the VIP treatment and won’t be waiting in lines, but the experience is a little bit different.
Disney’s Ultimate Day of Thrills VIP Tour
If your family gravitates towards the thrill rides, this will be the tour for you! This 7-hour tour includes the best thrill rides in 3 of the major theme parks. You’ll start off at the Magic Kingdom you’ll hop right to the front of the lines for Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and the Haunted Mansion.
Then it’s off to Epcot for Soarin’ and a break for lunch (which is included in your tour cost). After lunch, you are off to Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you’ll breeze right up to the front for Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, Rock ’n’ Rollercoaster, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Star Tours. That’s a ton of fun to pack into one day!
As of this writing, the Ultimate Day of Thrills tour is priced at $349 per person.
The Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour
This semi-private tour is ideal for families traveling with small children. Lasting 4 hours and taking place in the Magic Kingdom, this tour will make sure you get front-of-the-line access to all of the classic attractions in the park.
You’ll zip right on to Dumbo the Flying Elephant, the Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world,” Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan’s Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid. It’s a little one’s dream Disney day!
As of this writing, the price for the Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour is $249 per person.
Disney’s Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour
Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park is truly magical at night! The feel is entirely different from the ambiance of the park in the daytime, and this 4-hour tour is the perfect way to experience it!
You’ll meet your VIP tour guide and be escorted right to the front for Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, DINOSAUR, Avatar Flight of Passage, and the Na’vi River Journey. After you’ve enjoyed the park’s top rides and attractions you will relax and enjoy VIP seating for Rivers of Light. It’s the perfect end to the perfect day.
As of this writing, the cost for the Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP tour is $249 (be sure to ask about discounts on this tour for annual pass holders, DVC members, and Disney Visa Cardholders).
